I am proud to be an official Canva Design Community Canvassador!

As previously mentioned in my Empower Canvassador blog, the Canva Champions group had been told that the Champions programme and Facebook would be closing at the end of 2023. We were informed of the various Canva Community Canvassador roles that were available: Empower, Local Leader, and Moderator, that group members could apply for.

I thought I would apply for the Moderator Canvassador role, as it sounded interesting. Being a Champion Canvassador was enjoyable, and I not only liked helping others in the group but also being part of the Canvassador community, and I wanted to be able to continue if possible.

I was aware that many had applied for the roles, and I certainly did not think I would be successful.

What is a Moderator Canvassador?

Canva explains that Canvassadors are Canva’s most avid users who share our values. They are leaders in Canva’s communities that inspire, educate, and connect the community.

They share their deep expertise or knowledge of Canva with others, connect community members through virtual and offline events, and advocate for Canva with their networks.

Moderator Canvassadors:

Are top contributors and thought leaders in Canva’s online communities.
Assist with group moderation and answering member questions.
Host meetups, live events, and other activities intended to drive community connection.
Spark engaging conversations and discussions.
Create educational content and UGC such as tutorials, how-tos, and challenges for the group.
Given “Moderator” and/or “Canvassador” badges across FB Groups/Reddit, etc.

What happened next?

I joined the Discord channel and waited for verification, which could take a little while. Once you are verified, you gain access to certain channels in which you can interact, such as sharing feedback and your designs. I also joined the onboarding event to learn more, which I really enjoyed. I also got a new badge to use on my social media platforms, website, blogs, and tutorials. The comments and support received in both the group and on my social media were lovely.

The Canva Design Community Facebook group is an amazing group to belong to. With so many helpful tips and tutorials shared by the members, there is a lot of creativity and inspiration!
