Canva held their 2nd Canva Create event on 23 March 2023 and it was live streamed and watched virtually by so many users around the world. And what an amazing event it was!
Following on from their inaugural event in September 2022 titled “The Future is Visual” where the new visual suite was launched, Canva has announced “A Brand New Era” and raised the bar… big time!
In the lead-up to the event, many Canva users were seeing things moving, changing, updating and appearing on their Canva dashboard. The excitement and anticipation growing on social media, even more so when gift wrapped graphics appeared on the homepage ready to be opened.
So let’s take a brief look at the new features that Canva has unveiled:
Magic Design
A new AI-powered design tool, Magic Design creates a selection of personalised templates based on an image and style you choose.
Magic Edit
Available in Canva Pro, Magic Edit enables you to transform your photos by brushing over the areas you would like to modify and describing what you want to add.
Translate
Translate the text in your designs to connect with people globally, with over 100 languages to choose, it’s a simple and easy way to connect with others.
Beat Sync
Beat Sync automatically syncs audio and videos so no more manual editing.
Draw
Introducing Shape Assist, Canva’s AI drawing assistant, start sketching a simple shape and Shape Assist will tidy it up.
Magic Eraser
One that many have been waiting for, including myself. You can remove unwanted items from images using Magic Eraser. Brush over the area and watch the object disappear like magic!
Create Animation
Enhance your story telling using animation to make elements move across the screen.
Magic Write
You can now use Magic Write across the whole of Canva’s Visual Suite to help with content ideas.
Text to Image
More styles have been added to Text to Image to help bring your words and ideas transform into images.
Layout & Styles
Use Layout and Styles when you need a bit of guidance with the layout of your design. Use Styles to find suitable colour palettes and font pairings.
Magic Presentations
Starting with a blank page can be a nightmare, Magic Presentations can help generate a first draft of your presentation simply by typing in a few words and watch Magic Presentations bring your slides to life.
Brand Hub
The new Brand Hub enables you to upload fonts, colours, images and logos to your own Brand Kit and share with your team so everyone is designing from the same style sheet.
And that’s not all! Layers are now available to every user in Canva and with updates to Bulk Create and Find and Replace, Canva has features to suite everyone.
I am really excited by the new features and updates and look forward to getting stuck in with them all.
Canva will be celebrating their 10-year anniversary later this year and I cannot imagine what they have planned for that!
